- Patient group which the project is intended to benefit
- Evidence of engagement with the community and support from key stakeholders
- A budget with full cost breakdown and details of any partnership funding
Applicants will be asked to provide the following information:
- Evidence of need for training
- Evidence of the potential impact of the training on local healthcare systems
- Details of the specific courses, skill training programs, or clinical experiences to be undertaken
- Intended patient group or healthcare areas that will benefit from the trained professional
- A clear plan for applying the acquired skills upon return to the home country
- A budget with full cost breakdown

Binks Bursary for Medical Student Electives in Africa
Deadline: 01 June 2025
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is offering a number of bursaries for elective placements in Africa.
The elective need not necessarily be in a surgical specific unit, but priority may be given to students demonstrating an interest in surgery.
The bursary will comprise a single payment of up to £500 which can be used towards travel and accommodation costs, or other expenses involved with the placement such as vaccinations and visas.
