Professional Reviews

The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh can offer Trusts, Health Boards and independent healthcare providers expert, independent and objective advice to address difficulties and help improve surgical performance and patient outcomes.

We are able to review how clinical services are organised, benchmark the quality of service on offer and appraise the performance of surgical teams and / or individual surgeons. In doing so, we can help resolve concerns around safety, team dynamics, service reconfiguration and compliance with standards.

Each review is confidential and individually tailored to the needs of the organisation involved and followed up at a later date to ensure clarity and offer alternative suggestions if necessary. As a Royal College, we offer specialist clinical expertise, knowledge of both service delivery and regulatory requirements and quality assurance. We also offer this as a not-for-profit service with set fees only covering the cost of undertaking the work.
