Research Fellowships

RCSEd, in partnership with the Maurice Wohl Charitable Foundation, are proud to invite surgical and dental Members and Fellows to apply for the Maurice Wohl Research Fellowship.

Up to £60,000 is available to cover national insurance and salary costs.

The Circulation Foundation and RCSEd are delighted to offer applicants the opportunity of a two-year fellowship based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh to surgeons with an interest in vascular and academic surgery. 

The Circulation Foundation, a charity formed by The Vascular Society, has been instrumental in developing Vascular surgery as a new surgical specifically, and was pivotal in the development of ASPIRE, a curriculum-linked education for vascular trainees. As such, this partnership hopes to promote further education and surgical innovation, key values of both RCSEd and the Circulation Foundation. 

Applications are welcome from those who have completed core training, including LEDs Speciality Trainees and SAS doctors who have an interest in vascular and academic surgery. Consultants are not eligible. Applications from UK and International Members and Fellows are eligible.

Through the generosity of the Robertson Trust, RCSEd is delighted to welcome applications from Members and Fellows, including Core Trainees, Specialist Trainees, SAS doctors and LEDs, for the Robertson Trust Research Fellowship. 

This fellowship aims to promote excellence in surgical research. Applicants must be from Scotland, or the research must be conducted in Scotland.

Up to £60,000 of funding is available to cover salary and national insurance costs.

RCSEd and ORUK are proud to present this unique research fellowship in Orthopaedic Research to Members and Fellows of the College. Orthopaedic Research UK (ORUK) is a medical charity dedicated to advancing orthopaedic knowledge through their generous financial support of research and through their education and training events which promote collaboration between orthopaedic surgeons, scientists, physiotherapists and entrepreneurs. In this light, the RCSEd- ORUK Research Fellowship are proud to work in partnership to support advancements in Orthopaedics. 

Applicants must be a Member or Fellow of the College in good standing. Surgical trainees who are within a year of completing the MRCS and intend to join the RCSEd are also eligible.
