The results of the intercollegiate MRCS Part A examination held on 12 January 2021 have been published today.
The January 2021 MRCS Part A exam was taken by 3111 candidates. The usual standard-setting procedures (described in the document ‘MRCS Part A standard setting process’) were followed, and the usual panel of stakeholders were involved. A pass mark of 72.8% was agreed. This gave a pass rate (the proportion of candidates passing the exam) of 37.7%. The reliability of the exam has remained consistently high.
ICBSE and the four Surgical Royal Colleges of the United Kingdom and in Ireland would like to congratulate all candidates who were successful in the January 2021 exam, particularly in the current circumstances.
