The Director of the College's successful Future Surgeons: Key Skills course, Roop Tandon is retiring after many years of active support and delivery of College courses. Geoff Hooper, a long-standing faculty member will take over the role.

Roop's passion for teaching has been recognised by Faculty and trainees for many years. He was instrumental in setting up the Future Surgeons: Key Skills Courses in 2006 and has taught on our Basic Surgical Skills Courses since 1996. He also played a significant role in the development of the College’s first ever Surgical Skills Competition back in 2005.

Roop turns 84 in May this year, and feels it is time to hang up his hat ‘so to speak’. Roop is held in the highest regard by the College and is thought of fondly by the Education Team and the Faculty with whom he has taught over the years.
