Friday 24 February 2023 marked one year since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
As the conflict persists, the call for vital medical support continues to grow. Our partners, UK-Med, have continually deployed teams of healthcare practitioners since the conflict began, and are now providing support to communities in Turkey and Syria struck by devastating earthquakes earlier this year.
FRRHH 2022 - A Year in Review and Looking Ahead

This year has witnessed the continuation of efforts to design a capability framework that will support the professional development of remote, rural and humanitarian healthcare. Simultaneously, we have been developing a robust and transparent process for the award of Membership and Fellowship post nominals to allow for the formal recognition of the skills sets and experience found across remote, rural and humanitarian healthcare.

We hosted our first in-person networking event on Friday 18 November, in the historic Fellows Library at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd). Our Executive Committee were joined by members of the Faculty, plus representatives from our organisation members and partnership organisations for an evening drinks reception.

The Faculty of Remote, Rural and Humanitarian Healthcare, as part of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, is looking forward to attending and presenting at the Academy for Silent Mentor Tripartite Conference taking place in Kuching, Malaysia, from 14 to 16 December 2022.
