A leading surgical college is set to host a major event for those working in the medical and dental professions where new pathways for the professions will be discussed as the world emerges from the pandemic.

The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh has announced its first international conference will take place in October 2022 in Chennai, Eastern India, where over 1,500 healthcare leaders from across the globe will join forces to deliberate innovation beyond COVID-19.

The conference will be held in the ITC Grand Chola, less than five miles from the heart of the city, a major economic and educational hub in South India which is commonly referred to as the country’s health capital.

Attendees will have the opportunity to glean insights from over 100 top medical professionals who have already been confirmed to speak at the four-day event, including Professor Michael Griffin OBE, President of the RCSEd, and Professor Tony Redmond, founder of humanitarian charity UK-Med.

Professor Griffin said:

We now truly understand the value of in-person meetings and communication, and this will be a fantastic opportunity to come together with others from all over the world working in the medical field, to look to the future and discuss the lessons learned over the last two years as we continue our recovery from the pandemic.

It’s important to harbor a sense of collaboration and to share information in an environment where ideas can flow, and the conference will be the perfect forum to do this, while hearing from some of the top professionals in our field.

The medical profession’s strength is in cooperation and collaboration, and by hosting this kind of event, we hope to spark a brighter future.

This event is expected to prove extremely popular, so it is recommended that those who are interested in attending register their interest early.
