Leading Medical College Congratulates Regent on Prestigious Honour

One of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh’s (RCSEd) Regents, Lord Ajay Kakkar KG KBE PC, has been recognised as a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter by King Charles III.

This esteemed recognition highlights Lord Kakkar's exceptional contributions to the medical profession and society, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career.

The Order of the Garter, the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain, celebrates distinguished individuals who have made outstanding contributions to public service, leadership, and excellence.

The President of The Thrombosis Research Institute London and Chairman of King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre, he has spearheaded groundbreaking research in thromboembolic disease and cancer-associated thrombosis.

As one of the three new Knight Companions appointed on St George’s Day, Lord Kakkar, joins a select group of individuals recognised for their exemplary service and dedication to the highest ideals of chivalry.

Lord Kakkar's association with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh as a regent and chair of the RCSEd National Honours Committee is a source of great pride for our College and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with him.
