Applications Sought for Research Committee Members

The Research Committee of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, chaired by Professor Angus Watson, is currently seeking new members. 

The Research Committee meet three times a year to review the research strategy, offer guidance on research funding allocations, assess the portfolio of fellowships and grants and create long-term plans to support areas of potential research through partnerships, specialist knowledge and medical expertise. The Committee aims to assist in research developments and support the next generation of surgeons and clinicians at key stages in their career with the overarching aim of benefiting patients and improving care.
Applicants should have a strong interest in research, career development and a desire to contribute to the work and mission of the College to promote the highest standards of surgical and dental practice.
Clinicians, practitioners and academics are welcome to apply. The term of office is 3 years. Membership does not attract payment. The position is not dependent on location, applications from those based internationally, and in the UK, are welcome. Applicants must be a Member or Fellow of the College, and a practicing researcher.
