After three years as Editor of Surgeons’ News, Roger Currie will be passing the baton to Emma Stapleton. The June edition will see a transitional period, with Emma officially taking on the role for the September issue.
A Consultant Otolaryngologist, Emma served as RSA for North West England from 2019-2022, and is Founder and Patron of the Manchester Foundation Trainees Surgical Society (FTSS). Emma brings a wealth of experience from past editorial roles, and a vision for the magazine we look forward to seeing come to life.
When asked about the role, Emma commented:
"It’s an honour to step into the Editor role at Surgeons News. I look forward to working with RCSEd to develop the magazine responsibly, sharing the fantastic work RCSEd and its associated groups are doing, and promoting the College’s values, achievements, activities and opportunities with the international readership."
Roger Currie said of the transition:
"I’m delighted to welcome Emma to the role of Editor. I wish Emma every success in this incredibly rewarding position."
