The Scottish Dental Clinical Effectiveness Programme (SDCEP) has recently published the second edition of its NICE accredited Prevention and Treatment of Periodontal Diseases in Primary Care guidance.
The updated guidance is based on the best available evidence and brings together the latest advice on periodontal disease classification and treatment within one resource. The guidance provides clear and practical recommendations and advice to enable the dental team to manage the periodontal health of all their patients, including those who are healthy and those who have a diagnosis of gingivitis or periodontitis.
RCSEd Dental Dean, Grant McIntyre said:
"Most people in the UK will at some point in their lives find themselves suffering from gingivitis or periodontitis. Having up to date information on preventing and treating this is vital for dealing with it. I am therefore pleased that the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh has supported both the guidance itself and the creation of a single, digital resource to make it simple and easy to find."
Members and Fellows can find the new guidance by accessing the SDCEP website.
