The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is pleased at the announcement of 19 new diagnostic hubs in England, following the publication of figures that show the existing hubs have now performed over 3 million tests, scans and checks.
RCSEd President Prof. Rowan Parks commented “The College was vocal in calling for a rollout of Community Diagnostic Centres, to speed up wait times for a range of invaluable tests for patients throughout England. We are delighted that a further 19 such hubs are going to be created, taking the total up to 143 and allowing easy access to diagnostic testing for more patients.”
