The College's Faculty of Dental Surgery promotes excellence in patient care by providing quality-assured assessments and facilitating high standards of education for members of the dental profession. Established in 1982, it is the largest of the College's faculties with almost 7,000 Fellows and Members worldwide and its own Council. The Dental Faculty's portfolio consists of a wide range of exams and courses held in 17 countries around the world.
Applications are invited from Fellows of the Faculty of Dental Surgery in good standing with experience of education and training for the role of Convener of Dental Education commencing November 2022.
The Convener plays a critical role in the strategic development of the Faculty’s education portfolio. Working directly with the Dental Executive, Dental Council and College staff, the Convener is responsible for developing the Faculty’s educational strategy, chairing the Advisory Board in Dental Education and providing clinical guidance and expertise to ensure that the Faculty remains at the forefront of dental education in terms of both standards and delivery.
The Convener is appointed for an initial term of three years. Full details of the role are included in the information sheet.
