RCSEd have been delivering a mentoring programme over the past few months and would like to give those who have taken part, the opportunity to practice what they have learned and test their mentoring skills on real mentees. We are there for looking for volunteers for the Friday 15th October 2021.
The GMC recommends that we should all use a mentor. Successful doctors use mentoring to plan their future and when we face a dilemma or want to make the best of an opportunity.
The sessions are available to medical students, foundation doctors, core and specialty trainees, staff grades and consultants from all hospital specialties.
If you would like to volunteer, what we would need you to do, is come with something to talk about. A real current dilemma or opportunity that you are happy to share in confidence with your mentor.
We use mentoring ourselves for lots of things - sorting out which job to apply for, how to get the most from an opportunity, how to get through an exam. So think about something you'd like to chat through. One thing to make clear - the mentor won't give you any advice, but you are very likely to come out clearer about what you decide to discuss.
If you are interested in signing up for this opportunity, please email: education@rcsed.ac.uk.
