After a recent ballot of its Members and Fellows, the Faculty of Dental Surgery is pleased to announce the following appointments to Dental Council, Claire Morgan, and Richard Cure.
Congratulations to the successful candidates and thank you to all the candidates who took part in the election. Claire and Richard will serve five-year terms on Dental Council and will take their seats at the Annual Dental Meeting in the autumn.
As we welcome two new members, we also find ourselves saying goodbye and thank you to Brian Nattress and Toby Gillgrass who are demitting from Dental Council after serving over twenty years between them.
Claire Morgan is a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Barts Health NHS Trust. As Clinical Governance Lead for Dentistry and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at Barts Health, she has a keen interest in Patient Safety and joined the RCSEd Patient Safety group in October 2020. With commitment to education and training she is currently lead examiner in Management for ISFE in Restorative. As an elected committee member of RD-UK (Restorative Dentistry specialist society) she is a member of the Clinical Excellence Network for Head and Neck Cancer patients.
Richard Cure is Associate Professor, Head of Orthodontics at The University of Warwick. He is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Fellow of the Faculty of Dental Trainers, a GDC Education Associate and current Chair of the RCSEd’s Advisory Board for Dental Education. He examines for the College at MOrth, MFDS and MAGDS.
