With the latest lockdown in place in the UK, we are disappointed that it will mean inevitable further delays in being able to welcome our new Members and Fellows to a diploma ceremony in Edinburgh. The new restrictions mean the College campus in Edinburgh has closed and unfortunately, this means we are unable to send out diploma certificates in the month of January.
We appreciate that these delays have been particularly frustrating for many of you over the past nine months while you wait for your diploma certificates. Our President and Office Bearers take immense pride in ensuring that each diploma certificate is signed by them personally, as well as the application of the College seal, which is also done by hand on the College campus. This is why diplomas under normal circumstances can take up to 12 weeks to be prepared after the date of election. Due to the restrictions and complications of the COVID-19 pandemic, this is taking considerably longer.
We understand how disappointing this will be for our new Members and Fellows, but please be assured that we will continue to support you as much as we can, as we work from home. If you require urgent verification for an employer, please email verifications@rcsed.ac.uk and the team will prioritise these requests to ensure you do not encounter further delays.
