We are seeking nominations for the position of Module Co-leader, for a period of three years, to work on an exciting new project in surgical education. The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd), through its Faculty of Surgical Trainers (FST), and Imperial College London are partnering to develop and deliver online surgical education up to Masters level. Initially, the Module Co-Leader will work as part of a team at Imperial College to develop Module 5: Impact of policy and context on being a surgeon educator for an online PG Certificate in Surgical Education. The Module Co-Lead will be responsible for co-producing module identity, content, structure and assessment materials and will co-deliver aspects of the programme with a member of Imperial’s Department of Surgery and Cancer.
Pending final approval of this partnership, it is expected that this role will commence in Spring 2021.
Applicants should be UK-based Fellows of the FST (FFSTEd) in good standing with FRCS or equivalent and extensive experience in medical/surgical education including knowledge of key theories and good practice. Individuals currently holding Associate or Membership level of FST (MFSTEd) will be also considered subject to a successful application for Fellowship.
