Nominations Sought for College Council Vacancies

Published: 31 January 2020

The Council of the College is seeking nominations for four vacancies which will arise on Council at the AGM in November 2020 when Mr W J R Currie, Mr T Graham, Mr S Gupta and Miss A Paisley will come to the end of their terms of office.

Nominees must be Fellows of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, in good standing with the College and the appropriate professional regulator. Council Members are elected by the College’s Fellows and Members and as a charitable organisation, are appointed as Trustees of the College.

This is an exciting and important role as part of the governing body of the College which represents the professional interests of the College's membership. Decisions made by Council formulate policy and direct the College in its mission to promote the highest standards of surgical practice. Council comprises five Office-Bearers, 15 elected members, one elected Trainee member and the Dean of the Faculty of Dental Surgery. Council Members are expected to commit a minimum of 15 working days per annum on site for this role, in addition to other College duties, for a five year term.

The deadline for nominations is 5pm on 22 May 2020. For further information and nomination requirements, please view the RCSEd College Council Notice Call for Nominations 2020 document below.
