Apply to be an RCSEd International Surgical Adviser

RCSEd is renewing its network of International Surgical Advisers (ISAs). This is an exciting opportunity to become a key part of a network of ISAs engaged in promoting RCSEd worldwide and to help deliver the new RCSEd international strategy. These positions are open to Fellows  based outside of the United Kingdom.

About the Role

The ISA will act as an ambassador and key point of contact for the RCSEd’s activity in their region or country. They will be responsible for developing and promoting effective and beneficial relationships in their region with the relevant local surgical and education training organisations, boards and committees. They should be prepared to act as a point of contact for surgical trainees in their region or country and to promote the College’s examinations and education activity to them and to the wider surgical community locally.

Experience/Qualifications/Key Skills

The successful application will be an actively practicing surgical consultant with at least three years’ experience. They should be actively involved in surgical training. They should be in good standing with their local professional regulatory body. Ideally, they should be a current or recent RCSEd Examiner and/or a Fellow of the RCSEd Faculty of Surgical Trainers.

Terms and Conditions

This role is unremunerated and will be carried out on a voluntary basis. Expected time commitment will vary depending on levels of local activity, but applicants should be prepared to dedicate a few hours per working week to the role.

The deadline for applications is 10 April 2020. Interviews will be held on 6 May 2020 via Skype or video conferencing.
