The Faculty of Remote, Rural and Humanitarian Healthcare (FRRHH) is the global professional home for remote, rural, and humanitarian healthcare professionals. The faculty’s primary objective is to improve the standard of healthcare for those living and working in remote, rural, and life-threating parts of the world. In order to achieve this objective, the faculty works towards setting and maintaining standards of remote, rural and humanitarian healthcare globally.
The Faculty supports the needs of individuals and organisations working across the public, private and third sectors, by setting professional and educational standards, developing leadership capacity, accrediting training, and supporting innovation in remote, rural and humanitarian healthcare.
FRRHH facilitates professional development through various activities and is delighted to be launching a new fellowship as part of their exclusive offering to faculty members.
The FRRHH Fellowship has been established to help facilitate healthcare professionals’ access and exposure to different healthcare systems and contexts that will develop the knowledge, skill and experience required to work in remote, rural, and humanitarian healthcare. The fellowship will support the achievement of three of the faculties’ key goals:
- Actively support the professional development of remote, rural, and humanitarian healthcare professionals
- Spotlight, the talents, experience, and innovations of remote, rural, and humanitarian healthcare professionals
- Support and inspire future generations of remote, rural, and humanitarian healthcare professionals to access opportunities to gain access to this exciting, rewarding and fast developing profession
FRRHH are able to offer multiple Fellowships of up to £5000 per individual applicant to support opportunities within research, educational development, professional training, and travel.
This multi-disciplinary fellowship is open to FRRHH members (clinical and non-clinical) from across the globe and from all healthcare professions and grades. Potential applicants may come from applied health professions, they may work as part of the dental team, or as clinical support staff. Regardless of the individual’s healthcare profession, the faculty welcomes applications from all candidates with an interest and a passion to develop remote, rural, and humanitarian healthcare.
The faculty are approaching their third year of development and are grateful for the support of their membership and donors in particular, The International Centre for Excellence in Emergency Medicine (CEEM) enabling them to offer this rewarding opportunity so early within their development phase.
