The Colleges have been working behind the scenes to put plans in action to allow us to provide certainty to all of our candidates on the delivery of the Autumn 2020 exam diets. This is a rapidly-changing environment globally and in particular within the UK, where the possibility of local lockdowns is increasing.
The MFDS Management Board has taken the decision to hold all the forthcoming Autumn diets of the MFDS Part 1 Examinations via an online delivery method. The exam format will be exactly the same as before, and it is only the method of delivery which is changing.
This decision means that candidates will not be required to attend the advertised examination centre. Confirmation of these arrangements and further details of the online platform will be sent to candidates no later than one month prior to their examination. This will include details of the equipment required to sit the exam. However, we can advise at this stage that this will include access to a PC or laptop with a suitable webcam and appropriate internet access. There will also be an opportunity for candidates to trial the exam platform in advance of the examination to ensure that they are familiar with the system and that all equipment and systems are working well. Candidates with reasonable adjustments have been advised to contact us if they require different adjustments or have any concerns about the adjustments.
Colleges are aware that certain international venues may require alternative arrangements. These will only be provided at the discretion of individual Colleges, and details will be advised to affected candidates by the host College. We will provide further details and a Question & Answer document to candidates as soon as they are available, but any specific concerns regarding the information provided should be addressed to the College of entry.
