We are saddened to hear of the loss of Dr Furqan Ali Siddiqui, Clinical Fellow at Manchester Royal Infirmary, who has passed away from COVID-19 on 30th April.

Furqan had been a practicing Consultant Plastic Surgeon in Pakistan, with a particular interest in Cleft Lip and Palate, but moved to the UK and had been working with the Manchester team since Oct 2019 as a Clinical Fellow. Prior to this he had worked in several UK units in the early 2000s, and had a strong interest in working at other units in the UK upon completing his Hera in Manchester.

Colleagues and friends described him as an ‘NHS Hero’ who made ‘the ultimate sacrifice’, working in the UK to support his family, including his six children, wife, and elderly parents in his home country of Pakistan. Our deepest condolences are with his colleagues, friends and family at this difficult time.
