The College was delighted to host a drinks reception on Saturday 8 July for the Edinburgh Surgery Online (ESO) MSc graduates of 2023 following their graduation ceremony at The University of Edinburgh.
RCSEd and The University of Edinburgh developed Edinburgh Surgery Online as a way of offering award-winning, part-time online Master’s programmes to support the early and advanced surgical trainee. Programme options include the ChM (Master of Surgery) in Clinical Ophthalmology, which was developed with the support of NHS Education for Scotland (NES).
The drinks reception featured graduates from the MSc Surgical Science, MSc Patient Safety and Clinical Human Factors and MSc Ophthalmology programmes. RCSEd President Rowan Parks welcomed graduates, tutors and ESO members of staff to the College.
Present at the drinks reception were Navneet Singh and Athena Chrysodionta, upcoming recipients of the Lister Medal in Surgical Sciences which is awarded to the highest placed graduates of the MSc in Surgical Sciences programme during an academic year.
Anna March, who will receive the George Youngson Award as the highest placed graduate in the MSc Patient Safety & Clinical Human Factors, was also in attendance. George Youngson, past RCSEd Council Member and Vice-President, was present on the day to congratulate Anna on this special achievement.
On behalf of the College, we would like to congratulate everyone who graduated - we hope you all had an enjoyable day celebrating your achievements!
